Welcome to North Spoon Ranch
Hello! My name is Bennette. Welcome to North Spoon Ranch. I live in Palos Verdes, California with my husband Paul and our two dogs, Bailey (the crazy Doberman) and Riley (the sweet Belgian Malinois). I came up with this blog in order to share recipes that I have created over the years for family and friends. My mother and grandmother taught me much about cooking, but more so about the treasured gift of breaking bread with family and friends. I am Armenian, originally from Iran. My maternal grandmother was Assyrian, born in Ukraine, and my paternal grandparents were from what used to be Western Armenia. I grew up in Florida and California, respectively.
My recipes often reflect the myriad cuisines I have been exposed to throughout my lifetimes, such as Persian, Armenian, Ukrainian, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and Indian. Whenever possible, I use organic, fresh, locally sourced ingredients. I don’t use anything processed (if I can help it!). To save you time and trouble, my family and I have tested each recipe over and over again and simplified them so that you can replicate them, using ingredients that are readily available at your local supermarket.
